Had potential. September 22, 2008 Nik M (London) The watch didn't look quite like the picture when I bought it, but I think the image has since been changed (and this one does look like the watch). Now, people comment on my watch, saying how nice it is. Great! However, the strap is not genuine leather (I don't think) and as a result does NOT last! Of course, the strap is not under the warranty, so after it starts falling apart, there is nothing you can do. I like the watch, but dislike the strap crumbling. Another thing, when you adjust the time and put the pin back in, it ALWAYS moves a bit. Nice design though. People notice.
Looks good but doesn't last May 4, 2008 D. Lai (UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The previous wach I bought was a Kahuna, one which fetched many a comment on how good it was, it was durable and really amazing, which is why after many years of wear and tear and finally breaking, I opted to get another Kahuna. I decided to get more of a casual fashion watch this time, since I never did wear it surfing or any other sort of sport apart from biking, and also chose to spend less. I found this watch, loving how it looked and having the things I wanted (date, analogue) bought it after trawling for the best price and other similar alternatives. After I got it I was a little less impressed as I found out that it isn't a real leather strap (the faux leather detail being something I must have over looked). However, I thought that it was still a watch and fairly inexpensive so gave it a go. A month or so after (of non heavy use) and I noticed that the strap was peeling/tearing in places. It turned out that the metal clasp varnish/coating, was getting wet or something and sticking to the strap, ripping bits up when I wanted to undo it. I also found that the mechanism to change the time seems a bit cheap, easily moving the time when you only go to push it back in when setting it. My advice is that you might get what you pay for, but I'm sure there are better alternatives for your money. Or just spend a little more for something better. I now have my eye on a Fossil with a real lether strap.
Great Watch shame about the strap May 3, 2008 John (London, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've had mine for a year and its been brilliant. Which is why I'm really disappointed that the strap loops have disintegrated. I'm looking to get it repaired but for a so called surf dude watch, its a shame such an important part was so poorly reinforced. I never swam or surfed in it either!
Nicest watch ever! March 28, 2008 The Doctor (UK) I do not agree with you (above), the watch is really nice and robost, its 100M water resistant and comes with a 2 year guarrantee so if there is any problems you can always return it. Ive had mine for 5 years and I where it nearly everyday and its fine and I take it down the gym and go swimming and take it in the sauna. The kahuna brand is really high quality
Hmmm! March 26, 2008 J. K. J. Wagg (Leamington Spa, England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Don't get me wrong, its a good watch, it looks great and does the job. BUT for a 35 watch with a rough and ready surfers pedigree the quality of it doesn't stand up. I got it for Xmas and writing this review in March there's a crack in the glass from a 3ft drop onto tile, hardly rough and ready, and, worst of all, the good looking leather on the strap is starting to peel off showing the fabric underneath. I don't wear it to do extreme sports, this is all from regular everyday wear (and I don't even wear it everyday). So to sum up, it looks good but don't expect it to stay that way for very long.
