The clubs were delivered on time and I was excited as I opened the cardboard box marked "Made in China".
They represented the final stage of my friends attempts to get me to play the game of Golf.
I had practiced with an old borrowed set, spending days on the driving range, and here they were, my brand new set of Clubs.
As I unpacked them, carefully removing the bubble wrap that had protected them through their travels around the world from China to England then France, I was dazzled by their shiny heads and the latent power of the black shafted woods. Until the head fell off the putter.
Yep as I unwrapped it the head fell off. I was devastated.
I now longer trust these clubs and wait for the next head to fly off during a round.
I live in the South of France so returning the clubs is not an option especially when the supplier offers to re-imburse any costs for repairs done "in Golf balls". It was dissapointing that the first visit to my local Golf Course with a new set of clubs was to ask the Professional "How much to repair a totally unused club?"
Another friend who is starting to take up the game has already deceided to go "elsewhere".
