One word: Terrific! August 16, 2008 Alexander Crow (Alba) Considering i only paid 150 for mine i cannot complain, and why would i want to? This thing is amazing! I have never been a fan of Apple stuff, still am not, but my opinion of the iPod has changed. For such a small thing i can do so much: Games, Calendar, Mail, Internet, Music, Movies, Apps etc. It truly is great - However, i wouldn't pay 270 for one... They aren't that good. If you can get one cheaper it is a must, if not wait till they are < 200. You won't regret it!
best toy ever July 15, 2008 Mr. M. A. Mcloughlin (england) This item is the bast toy i have ever bought and would recommend it to any 1 to buy
The best bit of tech I have ever purchased June 19, 2008 T. Lowe (Bristol, England) One word describes this product - awesome! I got mine back in December and it is just incredible. OK so 16GB is ridiculously small for most people's music appetites but I have learnt to cope with the capacity by unchecking a load of music in iTunes. A couple of criticisms come to mind, sync times are very slow in comparison to HDD based iPods (I would say roughly 3/4 transfer speed) that can be annoying when you have to reload all your content again. In addition to this you cannot group compilation artists that result in lots of obscure names whilst scrolling through music (if your a dance music fan). These are quibbles however and don;t detract from how good this device is. The advantages of this however make this device stand out and quash its peers. Wi-Fi and internet browsing are phenomenal. The multi-touch is a joy to use and are unlike anything I have ever seen on anything else - it baically makes the competition look like dinosaurs. Music browsing is really easy and beautiful in cover flow. I find that scrolling through artists is simplist for me but all my mates like CF. I tend to watch lots of videos on the iTouch too and clarity and sharpness are astonishing for such a slender device. The price has fallen considerably since I bought this and now there is the 32GB version that is tempting. Apple really have produced a device that has it all!
Great all rounder June 6, 2008 Mr. Christopher Simpson (uk) Wife bought me this for my 40th birthday to replace my 30gb video ipod which has been played to death. Have to say what a fantastic piece of kit, worked effortlessly first time synching all my itunes stuff and selected photos. Bought some music on itunes via my ipod without any fuss. Only thing is like any ipod make sure you get a protector for it as it is a fingerprint magnet. And yes I am a Apple fan, always have been, everything just works effortlessly and the ipod works perfectly with my new imac (5 month old). Recommended.
Great digital music player March 20, 2008 Annette (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I spent ages trying to decided what digital music player to get and in the end I was seduced by the iPod Touch STORAGE 5/5 Space storage isn't such an issue for me since I'm not used to having several gigabytes of music with me. I quite happily fit all the music, video clips and photos I need for work and personal use within 16GB. I suppose the real test will come when I go on holiday and leave the laptop behind but I still think it'll fit enough variety of my media. USABILITY 5/5 Child's play! Touch screen interface is great. And the "accelerometer" gives you the best options for viewing on a small screen. APPLICATIONS 4/5 Music app: If you've seen the ad you know what it can do and it's very accurate. Great stuff. Video app: I love it. So far I've only managed to convert one of my DVDs to watch but I have numerous short clips I can study whilst on the road which is a big bonus for me. There's lots of info online about converting clips for your iPod. Photo app: Since there's no camera I haven't used this much. But I've created an album to keep a small selection of photos to show friends/family and there's fun in showing them on the iPod Touch. Syncing for these apps is simple through iTunes and iPhoto on your Mac/PC. Safari/Youtube/iTunes store It's great to be able to surf the web and check out Youtube clips when you have wifi access but I've not really found a real functional use for these yet. I really like the usability of zooming in/out on web pages though. Perhaps when I'm holiday and have wifi access in the hotel this will be a big bonus. Syncing your bookmarks through iTunes is also simple. Other apps (extra 12.99 from iTunes): I bought this without the software updates since I figured that most of the software requires interent/wifi access anyway. However I ended up getting the updates since I do get a fair amount of free wifi access from locations in London. But so far I've only made use of Mail. There's great potential for future apps. OVERALL 4/5 Had a couple of inconvenient buggy, required turn off/on, moments but otherwise I'm happy with my shiny new toy. ACCESSORIES Remote control earphones: There aren't any made specifically for the iPod Touch but luckily SOME* remotes made for older iPods will work. I just got an in-Line Remote Control iPod Video/Nano All Generations from Amazon ( 5ish inc P&P) and it works great. * Researched online
