For a while I had been looking for an all round martial arts shoe. I train in a modern style that combines kickboxing, weapons and ground work and have found trainers lacked a little something. The Nike Takedown II was my first "boxing / wrestling" boot and did not disappoint.
It is a very well made shoe that gives great support to the ankle and to the whole foot. The mesh sides provide great ventilation and don't overheat even in summer.
A lot of suppliers recommend that you go a half size up when ordering and I would have to agree. I am a UK 9 and with thick sports socks they are on the snug side. In fact my current Nike boot (bought in the US) is a half size larger and is perfect.
Only criticism of the boot as with all shoes of this style is that they do not provide much cushioning when running, but this is to be expected. I have only noticed this in heavy training sessions. That said the boot has remained very comfortable during long seminars.

Bought these for doing gym work and boxing training.
They are really light and flexible enough to use on bikes as well kick bags etc.
Only slight problem is, due to my wide feet, i have problems with lacing them up but it doesnt stop me using them
Good priced boot for exercising, not really suitable to wear outside .
