Good stuff September 3, 2008 Mr. Lee Cronin (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this for a 5 night camping holiday. I bought a different regulator for it to allow me to use calor gas which i can get for free which is good.. It cooks well, i suppose it depends on your pans but get some copper base ones and you will have no problems. The flame went out a few times due to wind.. This only occured when the gas was at its lowest setting - when i turned it up it never went out. I used both hobs and the grill simultaneously and again encountered no issues. For cooking proper meals while camping, 2 hobs and a grill is a must. The grill is great to keep things warm when you need more space in your frying pan. It all fits together nicely and only takes 1-2 minutes from bagged to ready. Just don't forget a lighter, flat screwdriver for hose clips and spanner to tighten the connection to the gas!
A great all-rounder August 26, 2008 P. Lymn (Bristol, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Does exactly what it says on the tin (box). A great all-round performer with my only gripe being that the instructions say you can't use the grill at the same time as the hobs - I have been unable to fathom out why, but have not attempted it. I have the version without the carry bag which would be a great addition to provide at least an element of protection when being transported in the trailer. Watch the cost of the CampingGaz gas bottles though - they're creeping up and up. It does work with other regulators/bottles although you'll have to buy a separate regulator.
Superb stove but shop around August 4, 2008 Mr. C. P. Ingram 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is an excellent stove for camping but I've seen a variety of prices, for example Cotswold charge 60 when others charge 40. Check you get a regulator - bear in mind also the regulators are different for a 4.5 kilo and a 7 kilo gas bottle. I've been using mine with both burners and the grill going so not sure what thats about on previous reviews. In summary this is the best stove - well made, compact and the gas bottles are widely available.
Excellent purchase July 31, 2008 muriel kennedy 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
We purchased this stove before going camping for a week with 2 other couples. The stove worked an absolute treat and was great for making huge breakfasts each morning. We actually used the grill at the same time as the burners and it work perfectly. It packs away neatly into the carry case and still leaves space for carrying utensils etc. The gas cylinders are quite pricey at 35. However once purchased, the refilling of the cylinder only costs 10 a time and seems to last for ages. 6 of us went camping for a week and there was still plenty gas at the end of the trip. All my fellow campers are going to buy one for their future camping trips as they were so impressed with it. Overall an excellent stove and well recommended purchase.
Campingaz Stove July 16, 2008 A. Fairbairn (UK) 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
A really excellent little cooker. Only problem is that product is sold with campingaz regulator and we found Campingaz gas cylinder very difficult to locate. When we did find one we were quoted 46 for a new cylinder and 18 to refill it. Calor Gas is found in most garages and is only 29 for new cylinder so we bought a different regulator which was only 7.99. Good product though. NF
