I first encountered thes cold packs skiing in the USA. My host kept a pack in the freezer ready for guests to use. They are great for swiftly reducing joint or muscle swelling and pain arising from ski and other sports injuries. They are big enough and the gel is soft enough to wrap around a joint and thick enough to retain the cold for the ten to 15 minutes that you need to chill down the injury site and you can get them chilled back down in the freezer again in time for the next remedial chilling cycle in the ten to fifteen minutes it takes to re-warm the injury site. Prompt treatment speeds recovery. Keep one in your freezer!
