Well, it works, but... October 23, 2008 A Ramos (United Kingdom) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
It is a bit disappointing. I got this as birthday present, so I cannot complain on that side. It looks nice, gets your heart rate and everything. However I was expecting more for the price and by the "Running Computer" title. Well the problem is... the uplink software only works on Windows. I wouldn't buy windows jut for it. Not having a Mac OS X version is really a downside. So most of the goodness of the gadget is lost for me :'( I just hope that Nike+ guys get the idea of integrating a heart rate monitor on its iPod gear. I would buy that one for sure.
Great piece of kit February 3, 2008 mssmith1 (UK) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
This is my first heart rate monitor and I've been very impressed with it. Pretty easy to set up and get going. Once you've put basic personal information in (age, height, weight) you are pretty much up and running. Display is very flexible and shows heart rate either in BPM or as a % of max. It can calculate training zones for you with its "own zone" functionality or you can choose to define your own upper and lower limits. Either way, when you are training outside the zone the watch lets you know. Alongside all this goodness, it has the usual stopwatch with laptimes, back light etc. The strap seems fairly durable and the transmitter belt works well with equipment in gyms. When you've finished working out it tells you the workout duration, time in your heart rate zone, calories burnt and % of those that came from fat. I've been using mine with a book called Slow Burn by Stu Mittleman and have been very impressed by both.

I bought the unit 12 months ago with the foot pod. I sent back my Suunto T3 to the shop as I could not get along with it well , the strap was unconfortable and other problems ( easy to scratch ) The Polar RS 100 is not only cheaper , more confortable and light , it is also compatible with the exercise machines in the gym. The nemu is very EASY to use and operate , the display will allow you to see your HR , speed , crono , distance , calories according to your needs. The chest strap is ok and does not fall apart whilst running. It works stright away but you might need to calibrate the foot pod. It also looks good.
