Amazon.co.uk Review Roman Holiday: Maybe it doesn't quite live up to its sterling reputation, and maybe the leading man and director were slightly miscast. But who cares? Roman Holiday is the film that brought Audrey Hepburn to prominence, and the world movie audience went weak at the knees. The endlessly charming Hepburn had her first starring role in this sweet romance, playing a European princess on an official tour through Rome. Frustrated by her lack of connection to the real world, she slips away from her protective handlers and goes on a spree, aided by a tough-guy news reporter (Gregory Peck). Roman Holiday is great fun, the location shooting is irresistible and Hepburn embodies an image of chic style that would rule for the rest of the fifties. No coincidence that she won an Oscar, and so did veteran costume designer Edith Head. --Robert HortonBreakfast at Tiffany's: No film better utilises Audrey Hepburn's flighty charm and svelte beauty than this romantic adaptation of Truman Capote's novella. Hepburn's urban sophisticate Holly Golightly, an enchanting neurotic living off the gifts of gentlemen, is a bewitching figure in designer dresses and costume jewellery. George Peppard is her upstairs neighbour, a struggling writer and "kept" man financed by a steely older woman (Patricia Neal). His growing friendship with the lonely Holly soon turns to love and threatens the delicate balance of both of their compromised lives. Composer Henry Mancini earned Oscars for the hit song "Moon River" and his tastefully romantic score. Director Blake Edwards's elegant yet light touch, George Axelrod's generous screenplay and Hepburn's mix of knowing experience and naiveté combine to create one of the great screen romances and a refined slice of high-society bohemian chic. --Sean Axmaker Sabrina Fair: Audrey Hepburn is the delightful, young, eponymous Sabrina, the daughter of a chauffeur who is hopelessly in love with David Larrabee (William Holden), the playboy younger son in the rich Long Island household her father works for. In order to help her forget her woes, Sabrina is shipped off to cooking school in Paris. While there, she befriends a baron who provides a bit of culture--and the encouragement to snip off her childlike ponytail. Upon her return to New York, Sabrina is transformed into a sophisticated woman, and David is entranced by her. However, his older brother Linus (Humphrey Bogart) has arranged David's marriage to Elizabeth Tyson in order to seal a business merger and thus must steer David away from Sabrina. To do this, Linus takes on the task of wooing her for himself. Full of great dialogue ("A woman happy in love, she burns the soufflé; a woman unhappy in love, she forgets to turn on the oven") and wonderful performances, this film is a romantic masterpiece. --Jenny Brown Funny Face: Fred Astaire plays a fashion photographer based on real-life cameraman Richard Avedon, in this entertaining musical directed by Stanley Donen (Singin' in the Rain). The story finds Astaire's character turning Audrey Hepburn into a chic Paris model--not a tough premise to buy, especially within this film's air of enchantment and surrounded by a great Gershwin score. Based on an unproduced play, this is one of the best films from the latter part of Astaire's career. --Tom Keogh Paris When It Sizzles: Filmed on location in Paris, this belaboured comedy stars Holden as a screenwriter who enlists his secretary's help in gathering ideas for an unfinished script. Marlene Dietrich makes a cameo appearance.

A fabulous box set for Audrey lovers everywhere. November 17, 2003 Miss H K A Shaw (London, - United Kingdom) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I was given this last Christmas and enjoyed it immensely - not only was it great over the dragging holiday period where the dang shops are shut and there is nothing of any worth on TV - but during the year I came back to this collection of some of Audrey Hepburn's best films (maybe excluding Paris When It Sizzles) and found that there is a film in this box for every mood. Roman Holiday for when you are feeling in love (but alone), Breakfast At Tiffany's for when you have a sinfully big box of chocolates you just must get through, Funny Face for when you want a smile to extend from cheek to cheek, Sabrina Fair for one of those happily retrospective nostalgia days, and Paris When it Sizzles for when it's raining and dull outside and you need a little reminder of what life's really all about. For male and female Audrey lovers alike, this box set will make an ideal present.. not only that but it looks beautiful on your shelf AND it's easy to wrap...
The best box set i've ever bought! June 16, 2003 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is simply a wonderful set of films! Audrey Hepburn is my favourite actress and these films are just timeless!Everyone should own this set of videos. 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' is the best film, but then it's been one of my favourites since i was five! The black and white films put off my younger sister, however if you enjoy watching fantastic films, it should pose no problem. This set can provide hours upon hours of entertainment and one of these films is perfect to put on when you're feeling a little down. Audrey's beaming face can only cheer you up!
Fantastic selection of Audrey classics April 26, 2003 This is a superb collection of films staring Audrey Hepburn. I am a massive fan of the actress and was not disappointed by the selection. My only criticism is that perhaps The Nun's Story would have been a better choice than In Paris when it Sizzles- which I believe is one of her worst films. Overall though a fully enjoyable selection, which kept me entertained for hours.
This Is Audrey Hepburn At Her Best!!! January 20, 2002 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
As a teenager who had never seen any of Hepburn's films-but was a big fan of Astaire-I was wowed by all of the films in this box set. Breakfast At Tiffany's and Sabrina Fair were both fabulous. I thought Roman Holiday was the poorest of the set but then it was her first major film. Funny Face was a masterpiece and Paris When It Sizzles made me laugh more than any other film I've ever seen! Definitely a video set for anybody who wants to laugh, cry and see one of the chicest actress' ever at her very best.
Captivating and enchanting - a classic set August 28, 2001 gemmasharkey@hotmail.com (UK) 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
Audrey Hepburn, screen idol in five classic films, four of which are fantastic. 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' is the obvious clincher of the set with Hepburn's timeless embodiment of chic, you simply cannot take your eyes off her! Capote's gripping storyline makes the best of her fascinating qualities. 'Roman Holiday' is wonderfully nostalgic, and 'Sabrina Fair' is entertaining because it is Hepburn. 'Funny Face' is worth watching if only for the beautiful setting of Paris and fabulous clothes by Givenchy, although Fred Astaire also adds his own brand of magic, complimenting Hepburn wonderfully. 'Paris when it Sizzles' is the weakest of the set but is not bad enough to put you off buying a set of films that everyone who cares about classic film idols and eras, should own.
