One chapter of the longest running comedy sitcoms on television, this collection from Roy Clark sees our favorite characters in more compromising situations.The vivid image of the late Bill Owen speeding downhill in a makeshift submarine turned bath (or vice versa!)is as unforgetable as the trademark frowns of Peter Sallis. Set in the heart of Yorkshire, much of the action is filmed on location around the real village of Holmefirth. Indeed such was the passion fr the location that Bill Owen now rests, following the Londoners demand to be burried overlooking the beatutiful dales.
Along with other well known characters, including the fabulously loose-stocking lover Nora Batty, this collection displays the complete action from the second series of the comedy.
The earlier episodes were an instant hit, but will still surprise fans both new to the series and those loyal longserving admirers.
It is wonderful to see the three hill walkers in their early days, yet acted perfectly in the distinctive style commanded by the quality of Clarke's scripts.
A bargain buy at any price and one certainly not be missed from any comedy collection.
