Life changing and accessible stuff. November 3, 2008 B. Johnson (UK) 1) Read the book 2) Let go 3) Relax and your life will get better. It's that sinple. (actually you could just do the last two, but the book helps) ;)
laughing October 15, 2008 G. Williams The title caught my eye and its very irreverence appealed to me. , earthy humour pitted with some some refreshing insights and some Douglas Adams style metaphors. Just what I needed having fallen out with a couple of people recently; trying to justify what we ourselves are doing or getting to the moral high ground is just so fruitless. So I'm saying "F**k it- I'm doing what I want to do" and its a great relief. I no longer have to justify my actions, (nor expect other people to.) Read it it might bring a smile to your face...
this really works! October 15, 2008 Bruce L (UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is one of those books that looks deceptively simple but actually requires you to engage with its message. If you do, and remember the message is delivered with humour, then your life will change. The basic idea is best explained by thinking about how we approach work. F**k it asks us to distinguish between quitting your job when all stressed and angry, and quitting your job *AFTER* relaxing into it, so that once you are relaxed you can make better decisions (should you really quit, what will it fix), and also not take all that stress to your new post-job environment. It's message is mostly that life is a viewpoint, and that with a bit of humour, mindfulness, breathing, body-movemement (deepened by practice) you'll still be you, you'll still be at work, you'll still have to get up in the morning, but you'll do this with a ready smile and an open aspect. You get stronger and happier and it feeds you. The idea is so subtle but its so very real! Its in this great book. :-)
A breath of fresh air October 14, 2008 Mr. A. Risner (U.K.) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
At last an honest appraisal of living a more rewarding life. Admittedly the title may put some purists off, however, this book simply and eloquently simplifies a philosophy that once embraced can lead one to a more joyful and satisfying way of being. I have purchased many so called "self help" books in the past but this is one of the few that I have actually read from cover to cover.
for nihilists only October 13, 2008 P. A. Stretch (UK) 8 out of 11 found this review helpful
If nihilism in disguise as spirituality is your thing this book is for you ,otherwise consign it to the fast food macdonalds drive in plastic enlightenment that is very popular for the escapist western culture.Although some wisdom con can be found in it ,not recommended for the gulible reader who will unthinkingly digest every word without discernment .
