The sixth chapter in the life of Britain’s most indefatigable all-girl pop group finds Heidi, Keisha and Amelle facing a new generation of female pop competition. The question: to take on modern soul songstresses like Duffy and Adele at their own game, or turn up the glitz and war it out from the dancefloor? Catfights and Spotlights hedges its bets, which is to say it does a bit of everything. Luckily, it does it mostly well: the opening “Girls”, a horn-led pop-soul number is mostly shallow and unconvincing, but “Sunday Rain” is a tear-stained, vintage-flavoured torch song with husky vocals and rolling piano, and a handful of songs penned by Britney/Robyn songwriter Klas Ahlund are smart and original. “You on a Good Day”, in particular, stands out, a stomping Northern Soul number dealing with the predicaments of a dundering partner: “That’s you on a good day/Disaster is always just a beat away/But I’m sticking with you anyway”. The album highlight, however, comes with “Side Chick”, fluttering R&B from the perspective of the girl that won’t be shared, fatalistic about the prospects of getting her man, but too in love not to try. --Louis Pattison

Its a great album really shows how great they can sing. Differant but amazing, Amy winehouse,Duffy got hyped up for thier albums y haven't the babes? I reccomend No Can Do., Beware, You on a good day. Hell i reccomend the whole album maybe excpt girls.

I bought this CD mainly because I wanted 'about you now'. The track on the CD is nothing like the single and I feel it's a cynical attempt to make you buy the single as well. Very disappointed.

You on a Good Day - Motown cool sounds a bit like Diana Rossy but more funky!
No Can do - Sounds like the Jackson 5 in places - Good
Hanging on a star - Great funky Song - catchy sing along one
Side Chick - a fab peachy chick song - one of my faves
Unbreakable Heart - Piano intro song - a sure number 1 - great sound
Sunday Rain - Classic Slow Anthem (Jazzy)- I can picture the video
Every Heart Broken - A unwrapped story - gorgeous - a sure hit!
Beware - Dark - stays with you haunting!
Nothing as good as you - lovely
Sound of Goodbye - fab
Can we call a truce - Romantic slowy dance song - Definatley My Favourite
She's like a Star - Very Catchy!!

I did not expect much from this album and of course it turns out to be really good, and one of the Sugababes' best. The songs are all well produced with sharp clear diction to really show off the girls' vocals. There is a nice contrast of tracks and I just love the breezy up-tempo songs that have a real feelgood feel. Very good album.

I am afraid i found this album to be another badly written offering from the Sugababes. I miss the super high quality songwriting that used to happen when Mutya was with them. I used to love he 'girl power' attitued and super charged melodies. That now for me has all but gone. The odd song they write is good, but on the whole it's pretty awful. Don't like some songs that are a 'throw back' to the sixties. Bring back the modern up-tempo and inspirational music that has been void since 'Taller In More Ways'. Very very disappointing. :(
