This DVD provides the viewer with a fantastic opportunity to be taken back in time to see Tori perform at the very beginning of her career. The first concert fronm 1991 took place just before her album, LITTLE EARTHQUAKES was released. During this performance, you see a side of Tori you may not be familiar with - the shy, unsure of herself side. There is a naiviety to her performance here; so much so that during the song "Happy Phantom", she forgets one of the words. Rather than bluffing her way through, she admits to the audience that she has had a memory lapse.
The second concert was in 1992, shortly after the release of her album. Although only a short time has passed between both of these performances, there is a noticeable difference. She is more assured as an artist and as a woman, and this shows. Seeming more at ease with herself, she takes the time to talk to the audience a little more than she did before.
What I love about this DVD is that is more than just a re-release of otherwise very familiar songs. During the 1991 set, Tori tells the audience that she was advised not to release the song "Leather", otherise it would be the end of her career. Admittedly, at first this was one song of hers that I struggled with, until I took the time to absorb the lyrics and now it is one of my favourites. If it had not of been for this DVD, I would never have imagined saying that about that particualr track.
I also love the fact that, because this is before she gathered a band around her too, it means that you are getting just Tori and her piano. In my mind this equals absolute bliss - you can properly hear the lyrics and feel the sentiment. Although later Tori is just as good, this is Tori at her best.

..... this DVD reminds me why I came to love TA in the beginning. Simply stunning vocals, lyrics and piano (and flame red hair!). Nothing more. Today she is still amazing, but this is the original and magical essence of Tori. Later Tori can sometimes be a little 'all band' and that can sometimes obscure her music. Just listen to 'Song for Eric' from 1991 and you'll see what I mean!
