 Much better than average space drama, but.... December 26, 2008

...would hate to be battling for the continued existence of the species alongside these characters, as there's really not a likeable one amongst them. This distanced me from a deeper involvement in the proceedings and it made it much harder than it should've been to keep my interest going. Honestly, after the first dozen episodes I didn't care if any of them survived, there was so much duplicity, underhand politicking and general scummy behaviour, with no one character, it seemed, behaving with any kind moral courage for more than an episode. Maybe this'll change as the story unfolds, we'll see. But that's my only complaint (albeit a fairly big one), I do think this boxset is fantastic value, providing many hours of great quality & intelligent space drama....ignore the views from those that say series 4 is cut in half, if you're someone coming to BSG for the first time, like me, then this has no bearing on the solid overall value of this package. Buy n enjoy...

Who cares if it isn't the full season 4? It's still great value. You can pick up the other half of season 4 when it comes out.

It's the 'frequently bought together' match that is most misleading. Amazon have added a description (probably after everyone's comments) stating that this release follows Sky One's labelling of the 2008 episodes as 'Season Four' and the 2009 episodes as 'The Final Season' (weird because the product is not branded as a Sky One release). Watch out for that match up, though because Amazon are encouraging customers to buy this boxset along with 'Razor', which is INCLUDED IN THE BOXSET.

This is truly a stupid release of seasons 1 to 4 and a half.
save your money and get the complete set next summer.

What is the point of releasing another box set that is not the full series at all?
I barly understood the sense in the season 1 to 3 boxset.
But a Battlestar Galactica box set that featured all but the finale 10 episodes of the series, that's just plain rubbish and a totally waist of money and I can't believe the marketing experts at Universal could really expect anyone to buy this box, if the next box is already in the works.
After all there's bound to be the truly complete box set and even that I won't buy, since I already bought the previous seasons when they came out individually.
The only reason I give this box one star, is that I can't give it less.
However - this review doesn't change the high regard I hold this series in, but the way Galactica is now milked for money can make you sick.
And to all that have seen the series on TV and are thinking of buying the whole thing: Wait until Galactica has run it's cores and is released in FULL!!
