Looking for a USB? look no further! January 1, 2009 Tardiskey (Southampton, UK) Really does what it says on the tin. It has had some really tough treatment from me, and it didn't even put a scratch on the casing. It is lightning quick when it comes to speed, and when I tested the speed against another (and more expensive) USB stick, this one came out a whole lot faster. It works well with Linux, too. If I am being a bit harsh, the U3 system is annoying. It keeps on reminding you that you didn't properly remove it last time (when you actually HAVE), and it gives two separate drivers in 'my computer'. It shows 2 drivers- 'E' and 'F'. One is the U3 system. This can get confusing. But, this can be uninstalled if you want to. But it is a great device to have, there is no question. And for the price you can't go wrong.
Not Bad December 21, 2008 RedOnRed (Milton Keynes, UK.) Having always previously owned Corsair drives and been quite happy with them (apart from a recent Corsair Voyager Mini which broke fairly quickly) I decided to go for one of these. Overall, i'm impressed with the look, feel and well built rugged quality of it, but the one thing that lets it down compared to a Corsair is the all important thing for me which is speed. It's not that it's slow as such - it's just noticeably slower then a Corsair, which I suppose i'll get used to...eventually.
Image shown not correct December 5, 2008 Cybeee 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
There are a couple of versions of the san disk cruzer casing. I specifically selected to order this one because the image shown was of the brushed metal, instead I got the other model that I was trying to avoid. A number of different sellers are selling off this code, and perhaps some of them have the brushed metal model, which feels a bit stronger than the shiny one. I spoke to the seller and they said they only matched code, and the image shown was not of their selection. So, three stars because the image could be misleading in some instances.
Solid, Stable, well designed November 16, 2008 K. Royle (Nottingham) Really solidly build, with the normal U3 startup / program management system. Personally I like U3, but it's easy to remove if you don't (or prefer an alternative like "Portable Apps"). I did find that on one occasion when I pulled it out after the PC had hung that it had completely corrupted...a nasty state of affairs that required me to buy data recovery software (the software is very expensive, despite being from the manufacturer!!). It could be that this is down to Vista , but at least you would expect free recovery software - it never happened on my 2GB U3 Kingston in over 3 years! I could have just reformatted for free of course - but it was vital data: I should have kept a backup! Still, a good sound product, and very robust.
Excellent piece of kit October 12, 2008 S. Mitchell (Devon, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For the money this is an excellent buy. The flash pen itself is sturdy, attractive and performs well. It is worth the asking price for the hardware alone. However, the supplied software is also worthwhile. The synchronisation software (Cruzer sync) performs very well as does the U3 option. My only disappointment was that the password software needed a further purchase for full functionality. If you don't need the supplied software it is easy to get rid of, if you do its an added bonus to a robust, capable flash pen.
