A Surprise Hit January 7, 2009 Mr. Ross Maynard (Glasgow, Scotland) Cooking Mama 2 has been a surprise sensation with our nine year old daughter. She can play it for hours on end - but all your really do is "cook" dishes on the DS. There are no challenges to beat, or enemies to defeat so anyone can play it without getting frustrated. If it gets kids even slightly interested in food and cooking then it is a good thing. A worthwhile buy.
Great fun for young players December 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this for my daughter age 6, who is relatively new to the DS and she loves it. It's simple to use, and making all the different recipes provides just the right sort of challenge - not too easy that she gets bored, but not too difficult that she gets frustrated. As far as I understand you get bonuses along the way, depending on how well you cook, and then get new recipes, new friends and new outfits for your friends. She played it constantly when she first got it, and it's still a firm favourite because she can cook the things that she enjoys again and again or even deliberately burn or spill things. Great fun and highly recommended.
Mama mia! December 28, 2008 This is a great game! You can practise making food and then you cook for someone! You unlock new recipes and get bonus items! This game makes cooking much more fun. A must have! Hannah 8 years old.
Fun for all ages!! October 3, 2008 A Woman (UK) I got this game for my daughter last year and we still play it now, There's something quite therapeutic about peeling veg with your stylus, chopping onions etc. There are many things to do and many recipes to unlock. Me and my kids love it.
Cooking Mama 2 September 30, 2008 I really liked cooking mama 2 but in my opinion it is quite short. Although you can change mama's clothes and decorate her kitchen! There are tons of recipes, at first you start of with 2 characters and only a few recipes but as you play the game you can unlock more characters and recipes, but if you don't like cooking or prefer adventure don't buy this game. This was my first nintendo DS game. I liked it but I completed it in a week. In my opinion you should get this game but it isn't very adventurous.
