5 out of 5 stars Brilliant compared to batteries   October 27, 2008
Gerard Carey (N.Ireland)
i got my xbox last christmas when i was in GAME lookin for cheap things in the after christmas sales i came across a play and charge kit for 11 which is quite cheap i wanted to see if my rechargable battery pack was better than my normal battery pack so i put brand new duracell batteries in 1 controller and charged the other until full battery i got my friend up to play halo 3..... the batteries wer finished in 2days and i had lost one bar of battery on my rechargeable battery pack (i also hav to say i had the headset in the rechargable battery pack controller which uses more battery)after this i bought a rechargerable battery pack for my other controller it now takes at least a week of serious gaming to drain the battery!!

My Opinion: as u can see by the comment i encourage every one with a wireless xbox controller to buy one of these!!!

2 out of 5 stars 360 battery pack   May 31, 2008

Ive had an xbox 360 elite for about 2 months now and im using the standard batteries that came with the console im my wireless controller
they are working brilliantly ive been playing on my console alot and when i go onto the xbox 360 blade to look at the controller battery there is only one bar of the battery gone! i dont think im going to bother buying a rechargable battery pack because there is not much point when conventional batteries last for ages i wouldnt advise getting the battery pack unless you use your console for long periods of time. im sure the battery pack is a good product but i dont see much need for having it

3 out of 5 stars Iv got better   June 20, 2007

I have 4 rechargeable batteries that, when im using 2 last well longer than 25 hours. I can even prove it! I was playing my brother a match of Gears of war that went on for an unbeleavable amount of time (Around a whole day!) and his batteries died in the middle of the match. I asked what batteries he was using and he said that it was one of these packs. He also said that he recharged it the day before and was anoyed with needing to use the play and charge thing. He was in manchester at the time and we were using thoes headsets that drain battery power. I was using these batterise for a few weeks, I have even tested how long they lasted. They have a brillient lasting time of 36 hours!!! I was shoked but thought lol lol lol, what a propper find they were. These batteries cost me 49.99 a pack so I guess theye were priced in their propper place. If you dont want to spend that mutch on a pair of batteries then get this, but if you want lasting power for intense gaming with a headset, don't get this.

Good Points:
1. Cheap for the amount of times it will need charging for the casual gamer.
2. It's a Microsoft product so it will work perfectly with the controler.

Bad Points:
1. Dosent last very long with the headset pluged in.
2. Anoying to need to use the plug and charge thing in the midle of a game.

4 out of 5 stars Useful but perhaps a tad overpriced?   May 7, 2007

If you are using a wireless controller and find yourself forever replacing the batteries, then you might like to consider this.

In conjunction with the quick charger kit, this battery will be fully charged in ~2 hours (for a single battery) or ~4 hours (for two in the charger at the same time). This then gives around 20 hours of play, which is pretty good.

However, for what is essentially a NI-MH battery cell, it is expensive - especially when you consider the quick charger kit comes with a battery as well and is only a third more expensive. Having said that, it's easier, faster and perhaps cheaper than using normal rechargeable NI-MH AA batteries.

The alternative is the play and charge kit, but either you need to plan it in advance or have the wireless controller connected to the console for a period of time - kinda defeating the object of it being wireless in the first instance!

5 out of 5 stars Needed.   June 25, 2006

If you bought the Premium Xbox 360, or have a wireless controller, and dont want to be throwing batterys away every fifteen minutes, you need this.

Theres no two ways about it, Rechardgable AA Batterys dont last nearly as long, and theres no telling when they will run out.

Using this battery pack allows you to see how much energy is left in the battery while in the guide blade during a game, as well as a half way warning, which will increase in frequency until it runs out. (These warnings dont disturb you, the ring of light just flashes alternatly)

The only problem is, there is no need for it to be expensive, and a charger cable needs to be bought seperatly. At least its a one time purchase.
