 A very useful tool for your children July 17, 2008

Although the software is outdated, I found it very useful for my 14 months old daughter. If you have a touchscreen device, it is very practical and she likes popping balloons by her little finger very much. The program works on windows XP but sometimes crashes.
If you want to introduce PC to your children this software is a good startpoint. Its affordable price makes it worth trying. I use it in small periods everyday and I can say it significantly improved her perception and reaction.

I found this cd difficult for my toddler to use and very frustrating, its content is too simplistic whilst its operation is too complicated. It has been relegated to the bottom of the pile.

My 2 1/2 yr old loves this but has quickly exhausting its range of challenges. I have been surprised at how quickly he picked up using the mouse to click and drop things (this is the first CD I tried out on him). However, as someone else commented, the requirement to switch to 256 colours is very annoying. Under w2k the user of the game has to be an administrator...not good.Along with this I have noticed that, due to the way some sound sequences are non-interruptable, my son ends up clicking on things and nothing happens because the game is 'speaking'. The music screen is almost impossible for him to use due to some really odd behaviour. However in general I think it is a well written game, they could do with updating it and fixing the problems though. Ian Murphy

Although this program has one game which amuses my 2 year old, the CD on the whole is pretty underwhelming.First gripe is that whilst the puzzles themselves present no challenge to my 26 month-old daughter, they almost all involve a high level of mouse manipulation that seems quite unreasonable to expect from that age group. Second gripe is the age of the software: I would estimate it as having been produced 5 years ago or more - an aeon in software terms, it only runs in 256 colours so I have to reset my PC to use it, and the whole thing looks pretty dated. Unless you have a touch-screen, I should steer well clear of this one.

I bought this a year ago for my niece who was almost two. She absolutely loves it and the easy layout means she can now get around it by herself using a touch screen. The matching and sorting exercises held her attention very well. A jolly character gave clear instructions and she enjoyed the music. At almost three she now needs something more challenging so I would recommend this for the lower end of the suggested age range.
