So Many Uses! January 7, 2009 The Doctor I have been looking at tablet's for a while now and finally went with this, my only regret is that i did not make the change sooner. I use the tablet with Maya, Z Brush, Photoshop and sometimes with logic and final cut. For the first three apps this really is the last word in functionality, Z brush has become an absolute dream to use since i got the tablet and the effect it has had on my overall workflow is beyond belief, my productivity has gone through the roof. from photo re-touching and texturing to modeling and animation this device has taken pride of place in my studio and is an integral part of my media pipeline. Worth every penny.
Excellent design, build quality and most importantly, performance. January 2, 2009 F. Cargnin I have this tablet for about a month now. I don't work in the design/arts field. I do photo manipulation and paintings, but I do it for me and my friends, and I would say it's a hobby. I have been using this product everyday and I am impressed with it. I always wanted a tablet and I always wanted a Wacom one. I don't regret buying this, as it is so much better to paint using this than a mouse. I don't have time or space to buy canvas, paints and brushes, so digital is the way to go. If you are a digital artist, than you can invest on this. I believe that it makes life so much easier when you are trying to vary the thickness of the brush, the angle... The precision of this is just awesome. I don't know how to explain, the thing just worked on my Mac straight out of the box. I plugged it in, went to the Wacom website, downloaded the newest driver and was painting in a matter of minutes. You take some time to get used to the pen, and how you should hold it, but after you do - that should not take long anyway, you won't go back to a mouse when you are painting/retouching/designing. The included mouse is wireless, does not need batteries, and has five buttons (the middle is the scroll wheel of course), and it works great. It's good to know that there are reliable products such as this one on the market today, because usually they don't work as they should, but this one surely does. If you are still in doubt about it, I recommend that you go to the Apple store and try it for yourself. They usually have one hooked up to a Mac so you can try it and see how it feels. I am sure that you will be impressed just as I am.
Hung up and poor support November 16, 2008 Nigel HS (UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Having been a satisfied user of the Volito graphic tablet, I believed this updated tablet would be an improvement but alas, no. No matter what I do, I cannot (nor, it seems can Wacom) get the driver to install properly. The result is that the pen freezes regularly - randomly returning to use, it creates random instructions that destroy or otherwise compromise the document, design, spreadsheet or other software. After several attempts to get sense out of Wacom without any success, I am left to wonder if the "improved" graphic tablet is just too complex for its own good. This is a great pity, as I have been a great fan - which explains my willingness to pay a sizeable sum for this replacement. I shall have to hunt out a simpler tablet in the hope it at least does the simplest things well.
Wacom Intuos3 A5 Tablet Pen and Mouse USB Mac/Win May 28, 2008 jamrev 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have used my old Wacom Graphire A6 tablet for many years now and found it OK but a bit on the small size. The larger Wacom Intuos3 A5 Tablet Pen and Mouse USB is the perfect size and the no battery mouse and stylus are excellent. The scroll/zoom sliders are very useful and suite left and right handed users. I echo the praise regarding the functionality and sturdy design in the other reviews. I would just like to mention that the Ultra Smooth surface of the tablet has helped reduced the sensitivity in my palms, and this is a bonus I didn't expect when I bought this beautifully designed equipment. The price put me off buying it sooner which I now regret as you will find it worth every penny and wonder how you worked without it.. The Vista installation is easy and trouble free What are the cons of the WACOM Intuos III A5 Graphic Tablet - well I can't find any
Great upgrade from Graphire....but terrible mouse April 24, 2008 Mr. A. Barroso Gonzalez 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Got this after two Wacom Graphire (they werent very good, both were sent back to amazon due to pen issues)broken tablets, as an upgrade, is excellent, you can even FEEL what the money was spent onto. I will recommend this to Photoshop professionals only. If you want to try this and do ocasional retouches on ps, go for the bamboo. Only a bad point, the mouse is just terrible, I thought I will able to replace my wireless logitech (g7) for the one that comes with the tablet, but the logitech is 10 times better in all levels.
