necessary for all who use the internet December 24, 2008 sm (Wirral) I had a slight problem loading this Program onto my PC.During installation it requests connection to the internet but every time i received an error message. It was puzzling as i'd removed my previously installed anti-virus software. It turned out,Windows Firewall was switched on.Once turned off,the installation continued without any issues and works fine.recommended.
Does a decent job November 26, 2008 P. Neylan (Orpington, Kent, UK) Bullguard don't do themselves any favours with their marketing. The website's main feature is a fictitious blog by the dog (and a desperately dull one at that). That, combined with the poor spelling and the Little England imagery (read 'plucky amateurs'), suggests they lack the seriousness required for something as important as computer security. In fact, it's better than that. I've been running Bullguard on my main computer (with Vista), while McAfee does the job on the XP computers elsewhere on my network. I can't really distinguish between the performance of either, though Bullguard is less confusing in its interfaces and is more easily customised. Like most security packages, it regards VPN (virtual private networking) as an unmitigated evil that must never be allowed under any circumstances, so when I work from home I have to switch it off and walk 'naked' into cyberspace (a trait it shares with McAfee). The online backup is an absolute pain. It took me three days to set it up; now it keeps telling me it's run out of space so I have no idea if my files are protected. (This came to light after I wrote the first version of this review; had I known about the backup I would have given it only three stars, but Amazon won't let me change that) But I work around it because I've been using computers long enough that I don't expect them to deliver more than half of what they promise. It's good enough.
Does what it says on the tin November 24, 2008 Simon Thomas (Oxford/Somerset, UK) I know very little about computers and software and hardware and ya-dah-ya-dah, so if you're looking for something which does what it says it will do... this is a good place to look.
Bullguard used for 5 years November 13, 2008 L. R. Armstrong 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have used bullguard for the past 5 years under both windows XP and Vista in that time I have found it to be a excellent, easy to use product that works very well and the bullguard support is free, efficient and prompt. I buy my renewals here on Amazon as for some reason Bullguard charge full price at the renewal ( 44 per year or 68 for 2 years) and my licence runs out in 18 days. In conclusion if you are looking for a excellent easy to use effective product look no further, you wont regret it.
Good October 24, 2008 Sally Wilton (Bournemouth UK) Very easy to use and doesn't keep annoying you with messages like 'database needs to update' or 'database is updating' also easy to configure. Even a computer novice can easily set it to whatever level of security is required. Didn't use online backup drive but it is a nice touch. Would recommend turning the bullguard firewall off and just using windows firewall as it is more user friendly and will already be configured to allow you programs to work.
