I'd bought a previous version of this software, and noticed that it was 2 years out of date (M60 was missing in the 2002 version). After emailing them, it transpires that the people who provide the maps are 18 months behind the road network, and the software is readied at the end of the previous year (to that on the box). I've suggested that they make it clearer when the maps are up to date to, but they still do not do this. However, it routes really well, if a little too detailed at times. You just have to be aware that their map is 2 years old.

Agree with the previous comments - while it is a very good mapping product, the maps themselves are woefully out of date. But it's not just the M6 Toll that's missing (although that's the biggest one). I've looked right across the map and basically any roads finished after September 2003 are not on the map - not very good for a product that describes itself as the 2005 version!It's especially bad when you consider that many of these roads had been in planning or construction for a good few years anyway, so they'd have had the data for the maps anyway. In fact I have an old copy of Autoroute from about 1998 that has one of these 'missing' roads on it as a dotted "being built" line - so why Route 66 doesn't know about it, I'm not sure! If you're looking to upgrade from a previous version of Route 66, I'd wait another year and see if they update their maps.

I found this software impressive and easy to use but I expected it to be more up to date. I was disapointed to find the M6 toll isn't on it and as it has been open for some time I expected it to be there - after all it is called route 2005. Maybe it will appear on the 2006 edition.
