Good Value... December 24, 2008 Scubaboy (Swansea, UK) I've only ever used MS Publisher so I was a little anxious about trying something new. I needn't have worried - you can access the Help facility easily and everything is explained clearly. This suits all abilities from novice to pro. You actually get three programs in one. You can create business cards, leaflets etc. with the publishing program. Secondly, you can even create your own art / logos etc with the graphics designer, and lastly (my favourite) an imaging program that allows you to create from scratch animated GIFs etc. for web pages. Haven't mastered all of it yet but I'm looking forward to the challenge. An exciting program, easy to use and, perhaps the biggest plus, fantastic value.
Brilliant suite of applications only let down by 3D application ImpactPlus 5 December 22, 2008 Mr. Graham Cummings (Yorkshire, UK) The installation is pretty straightforward; there are no gotchas to worry about, and all-in-all the application feels very professionally put together. Serif Draw Plus --------------- This is a drawing application similar to Adobe Illustrator. It has very good wizards and allows you to set up a variety of publication types. The software is also eally easy to use and you're not overwhelmed by options. Serif Page Plus --------------- This is a really professional DTP package, and worth the price of the whole package by itself. It has fanastic example templates to get you started and lots of tools to use to create your document. You can import existing documents if you already have created your text in Microsoft Word (for example), and it also allows you to output your creations to PDF. Page Plus is also very easy to use, and as already mentioned worth the price of the whole package. Serif ImpactPlus ---------------- To be honest, I'm not sure why this package was included, as it's not particularly good. The output quality of the 3D it can produce looks amateurish at best, and if you're serious about learning 3D, you'd be much better off getting the 3D Studio or Maya Learning Editions. than using this. I would have given this suite of applications five stars had not included the 3d application, as this tool drags down the overall quality of the suite in my opinion.
Easy desktop publishing. December 22, 2008 P. A. Smith (Hampshire) This really is a great little publishing package at a great price. So far I have used it to produce a couple of posters, some CD labels and to help finish off a project I had been working on for work. It goes without saying that the better the printer you have the more likely that the projects you are working on will turn out better. There are plenty of wizards, tutorials and templates to help you along the way and after only a short time you really get the hang of it.
As good as any other December 19, 2008 Mr. P. Tanner 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For the novice user this software is as fully featured as other manufacturers products. This has all the wizards and options you need to start producing your own quality products. There are also a plethora of more complex tools which I'm sure would satisfy the most experienced user. Within minutes you could be producing calenders, cards, newsletters and so much more. The layout of the screen will be instantaneously familiar to anyone who has used any other DTP software, the icons are all representative of what they do. I could give a long and more featured review, but to put it simply - if you want a quality DTP program at a fraction of the price of many competitiors then I would happily recommend this. You will not be disapointed.
Not bad for the price. December 18, 2008 Mr. M. P. Duffy (Littlehampton, West Sussex United Kingdom) I normally use MS Publisher for my work related DTP needs, and although this is nowhere near as good, for the price it is pretty reasonable. It was very easy to install & didn't take up too much room, and once installed it was pretty easy to jump straight in. There were some features missing that I like on Publisher, but I reckon this programme will more than capable of delivering most home DTP needs. My main complaint is the uncomprehensive manual & the lack of manual for the accompanying programmes. Recommended.
