Tepid Coffee November 27, 2007 M. Johnson (Hampshire U.K.) This is so cheap it seems churlish to complain but mine makes tepid coffee. I was going to send it back to Amazon until I realised Amazon's returns policy does not refund postage so it would cost almost as much to return it as I would get back. I tried leaving it longer after it has brewed but it does not help, the problem is the hotplate is not hot enough.
Good for its cost, but does wear out quickly. January 19, 2006 Mr. J. D. Rose (Trelewis, South Wales, UK) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I purchased one of these a number of months ago and had great results with it. However, after about 4 months of using it all day every day it did stop working, the valve that controlled the flow of water into the heating mechanism broke and simply leaked the water from the reservoir, through the machine, and straight onto the tabletop. Theoretically it was still covered by the warranty, but frankly, at this price, it's cheaper and easier to just by another one.
Good but flawed July 7, 2005 Mark Regan (Cumbria) 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
I have now had 3 of these, one is still working and producing great coffee. The other two have been based in our office and have died after about 5 months of use, I put this down to over use as we get through around 3 pots a day so they have probably done about 18months of standard home use. Overall a very good little machine and the re-usable filter makes life much easier. I would recommend it if you want one for home use, which to be fair is waht it was designed for, but if you are going to be using it a lot (and I do mean a lot) then I wouldn't, it just hasn't got a long life in high demand situations. But can I complain, No. Not at this price, its worth its money when all is said and done.
