 Test Your Imagination and Vocabulary January 2, 2009

We played this exciting little game over Christmas. With a great variety of words, some easy and some difficult, but most of all entertaining when your friends put their imagination and their intellect to the limit this game is sure to provide many hours of entertainment! Failing that you can always buy the 'expansion pack' of 500 cards with new words for each category.
A few problems worth mentioning are that some of the names in the 'people' category are so obscure that very few would know them or be able to break the words down, so we found that players would often get caught up on that category for a few turns if they were unlucky. It's also not recommended for children, however there is a version of this game that is designed for children.
Also, the thing in the middle was broken, the build-quality of this game could be a bit better for the money. There must be at least 4 people in order for this game to function in it's prime competitive state, and sometimes it's hard to motivate 4 people to participate at the same time.
Overall, great game, entertaining, could be made better but worth the money based on fun!

We got Articulate for Christmas 2008, and we have played it 3 times already with friends and family.
The rules are simple; describe as many words as you can in the time limit and move around the board towards the finish faster than the other teams. Each board square represents a different catergory to try and explain, and these can be really easy or very hard, which is a great balance for the game. This game is easy to play, fast paced, and a lot of fun. It gets everyone involved and excited and I would reccommend this game for any party.
Please note however, that after only playing this game three times, we are running low on fresh answers. Despite the giant box of cards, most of them are duplicates, and explaining the same thing over and over again takes the fun out of things a little bit. There are millions of words out there, so why there are so many duplicates is very frustrating.
Value for money poor. We already need the bumper pack!!
I also feel the game could have more variations, challenges or things to do. The control sections are good(when every team tries to guess) but the spinner in the middle of the board is relativly pointless, thus, this could be just as fun played without the board. The end is a little anti-climatic after so much excitment, which is a shame because with just a bit more invention, variation and not so many duplicate answers this game could be truly great.
Enjoyable but very short shelf life without a top-up pack, and frustratingly this could be so much better. 4 stars.

I first played Articulate at my aunt's house with my cousins, and it was so good that we had to buy one for ourselves! No family gathering is complete without a game of Ariculate! It is so much fun and always guaranteed to make you laugh! Buy it now!

We bought this for christmas when the family come over but gave it a trial run with my cousin, aunt and mum today and there wasn't much silence in the house cause of all the laughter.
We really enjoyed it, just a great game that seems more entertaining the more people are involved.
If you could only own one board game, I'd choose this one, you shouldn't even hesitate buying it.

This game is great fun. We played it on boxing day with the whole family (me 27, bouyfriend 38, his sister 40, her partner 38, her daughter 13, and my boyfriends mum and dad 57 & 60) and we had a brilliant time. The hardest thing is knowing who some of the people are but you could always pass if you didn't know but half of the fun is making up who you think it is for your team to guess! I would definitely recommend this game to anyone looking for a great way to entertain. It breaks down barriers and would be great at a party where people don't necessarily know each other well as well as great at an everyday party. Highly recommend!
